Permitting Manager

The Permitting Manager maintains the integrity of the business and license holders according to state laws. This is a high accountability role managing a small team to execute and maintain efficiently. This is a salaried position, with previous HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and/or GC permitting experienced required. 

General Position Summary & Responsibilities: 
The permit manager is responsible for including but not limited too:

  • Obtain basic project documentation (Certificate of Insurance, Additional insured, Building Permit, Tax exempt Certificate
  • Permit intake and processing to completion with fast turn around times
  • Knowledge with using county portals and paperwork processes
  • Cashier duties and coordination of department work including permit processes
  • Communicates with other agents/departments for ultimate permitting success
  • Learn basic specialized rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and activities related to the Operations and utilize them to assist customers and higher level technical and professional staff
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures to assure departmental effectiveness and compliance. 
  • Obtains purchasing specifications for programs based on functional requirements
  • Prepares required reports; provides detailed analysis of purchased goods. 
  • Identifies, documents, and implements opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management

Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent 
  • Experience with Microsoft office and ability to learn new software
  • State of Florida Notary Public/interest in becoming one 
  • Clear 7 year driving record
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
  • Techniques for dealing effectively with the public, vendors, contractors, and City Staff, in person and over the telephone. 
  • Techniques for providing a high level of customer service to the public,  vendors, contractors, and City staff, in person and over the telephone.
